HR Consulting Solutions is a full-service HR consulting and executive search firm that has been retained by Premier Candle Corporation to recruit for an experienced Site Manager on the night shift to lead manufacturing operations during the evenings at their facility in Hickory, Kentucky.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Manager, the night shift Site Manager is responsible for the overall operating performance of the manufacturing team during the evenings. This hands-on leader works collaboratively with managers and supervisors to streamline production with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, waste reduction, productivity, and on-time performance. The Site Manager leads Production Line Operators, Production Team Leads, and Production Machine Operators and partners with the Production Manager to develop and implement effective strategies to achieve key manufacturing performance goals.

SCHEDULE

  • Night shift schedule: 3:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
  • Friday work may be required during busy seasons and peak production periods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manufacturing & Production Leadership

  • Direct night-shift manufacturing operations through Production Line Operators, Production Team Leads, and Production Machine Operators.
  • Monitor, measure, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) across assigned production areas.
  • Implement production schedules across all lines and effectively allocate manpower to achieve company goals.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and develop a thorough understanding of processes in order to lead by example.
  • Verify required components are correct and listed on manufacturing orders before and during packaging.
  • Support packaging-line standards, scheduling requirements, and effective execution of packing orders.

Safety, Quality & Performance

  • Assist the Production Manager in analyzing operations and identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, and production efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction, and on-time delivery.
  • Participate in daily planning and goal reviews and help drive strategic action plans to achieve performance objectives.
  • Use strong analytical skills and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot problems and implement effective improvement plans.

Leadership & Employee Development

  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate employees to improve performance and support professional growth.
  • Provide leadership in resolving problems and building productive working relationships across teams and departments.
  • Support a culture of employee participation, sound decision-making, positive morale, accountability, and employee development.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Serve as a key leader in problem solving through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Champion continuous improvement and engage employees in the pursuit of operational excellence.
  • Think ahead, plan effectively, and prepare and execute action plans designed to achieve results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with other company departments to support production scheduling and achieve desired operational results.
  • Communicate effectively across multiple production lines and with managers, supervisors, and other functional teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree or commensurate experience.
  • 3–4+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment; machining and assembly experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead manufacturing employees and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with WMS or similar systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean Six Sigma certification with 3+ years of hands-on experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires a strong production-floor presence. The role requires walking, standing, sitting, twisting, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, reaching, pulling, and pushing, as well as the ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequent computer use is also required.

This is a night shift management position. The regular schedule for this role is 3:30 p.m.–2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Fridays may also be required during busy seasons and peak production periods. Are you able and willing to consistently work this schedule?*
The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000–$95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for an end-of-year production bonus. Is this compensation range generally consistent with your expectations?*
