HR Consulting Solutions is a full service HR consulting and executive search firm that has been retained by a confidential manufacturing client to conduct a search for an experienced Occupational Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Western Kentucky.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to plant leadership, the Occupational Health & Safety Officer will oversee all workplace health, safety, environmental, and compliance initiatives within the manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that promote regulatory compliance, minimize workplace risks, and foster a strong culture of safety throughout the organization. The Occupational Health & Safety Officer will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, human resources, and production leadership to support safe work practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong OSHA knowledge, manufacturing safety experience, and a hands-on leadership approach within a fast paced production environment.

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE LEADERSHIP
  • Lead all workplace safety initiatives for the manufacturing facility
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable federal, state, and local safety standards
  • Oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and related compliance efforts
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and compliance reporting

INCIDENT INVESTIGATION & RISK MANAGEMENT
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans
  • Monitor workplace trends and safety performance metrics
  • Assist with workers’ compensation and return to work coordination as needed
  • Support emergency preparedness and response planning

TRAINING & EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
  • Develop and facilitate employee safety training programs
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to reinforce safe work practices
  • Provide coaching and guidance regarding workplace safety expectations
  • Assist with new hire safety orientation and ongoing employee education

OPERATIONS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams regarding equipment safety and process improvements
  • Participate in process hazard analyses and safety reviews
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and operational efficiency
  • Stay current on emerging safety regulations, best practices, and industry trends

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of safety experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) strongly preferred
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred
  • Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, and employee training
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
