SUMMARY
HR Consulting Solutions, a leading international executive search firm, has been retained by a fast-growing, highly respected engineering company in the Carolinas to recruit a Regional Manager for their Charleston, South Carolina office. Our client is a recognized leader in civil and environmental engineering, known for its strong industry reputation and commitment to excellence. This high-level leadership role requires a seasoned professional with 12+ years of experience and a proven track record of managing engineering teams and driving business growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and oversee project management for commercial, residential, and industrial developments, including industrial park design, storm drainage systems, water/wastewater systems, and roadway design.
  • Provide strategic leadership to multi-disciplinary teams across various locations, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Lead business development efforts, expanding market presence and identifying new client opportunities within the region.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and successful project completion.
  • Mentor and develop engineering and project management teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Actively participate in recruiting top talent and fostering leadership growth within the firm.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability of projects.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, professional associations, and networking opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, regulatory, and quality standards across projects and office operations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • 12+ years of experience in civil engineering and project management; Regional office leadership a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams and large-scale engineering projects.
  • Proven track record in business development, expanding client relationships, and growing revenue streams.
  • Expertise in project lifecycle management, including design, permitting, regulatory compliance, and construction oversight.
  • Strong technical acumen in civil engineering design principles, land development, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel; experience with Civil 3D and Land Development software is a plus.
  • Expertise in GIS, hydraulic modeling, or environmental impact assessment tools is favored.
  • Proven leadership, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
