DAE-IL USA is seeking an experienced, hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all environmental, health, and safety operations at our manufacturing facility in Murray, Kentucky.
DAE-IL USA is part of DAE-IL Corporation, one of South Korea's leading manufacturers of precision automotive transmission gears and drivetrain components. Since opening its state-of-the-art U.S. manufacturing facility in 2018, DAE-IL USA has continued to grow while supplying high-quality automotive components to leading automotive manufacturers. Our Murray facility utilizes advanced forging, heat treating, and machining processes to manufacture precision drivetrain components for the automotive industry.
As our organization continues to grow, we are expanding our leadership team by adding a dedicated EHS Manager. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced safety professional to partner with Operations, Human Resources, and executive leadership to strengthen our safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and help shape the future of our organization.
POSITION SUMMARY
The EHS Manager will serve as the primary environmental, health, and safety leader for our Murray manufacturing facility, providing both strategic leadership and hands-on support. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position will work closely with the Human Resources Manager and executive leadership to build a proactive safety culture throughout the organization. The successful candidate will be highly visible on the manufacturing floor, coaching supervisors, engaging employees, identifying hazards, leading incident investigations, and driving continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing regulatory compliance with practical problem-solving and wants the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee safety and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety functions for the facility.
- Develop and maintain a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement proactive initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and prevent incidents before they occur.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulations.
- Manage Hazard Communication, SDS, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Powered Industrial Truck, and Emergency Action programs.
- Develop and deliver safety training and new hire safety orientation.
- Chair the Safety Committee and monitor safety performance metrics.
- Partner closely with the HR Manager on onboarding, workplace investigations, workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and employee engagement.
- Coach supervisors on safety leadership, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain EHS records, regulatory reports, permits, and documentation.
- Monitor, analyze, and report key safety performance metrics to executive leadership.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk and improve operational performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Five (5) or more years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and delivering safety training.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Automotive manufacturing experience.
- Experience with environmental compliance.
- ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 experience.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- ASP or CSP certification.
- Experience working within an international or multicultural organization.
