HR Consulting Solutions, LLC is a national executive search firm that has been retained by River Valley AgCredit to conduct a search for a Loan Officer to work alongside their team in Loudon, TN.

POSITION SUMMARY

Develops new business and expands existing relationships in both the Agricultural Lending and Country Mortgage (Residential) segments. This role typically focuses approximately 70% on agricultural lending (including farm, equipment, and land loans) and 30% on residential mortgage lending for rural homeowners. Calls on potential customers, identifies credit needs, secures financial data for analysis, and makes proposals for new business. Makes sales calls to achieve Association-established goals. Maintains knowledge of Association products and services as well as knowledge of the industries in the market area served. Explains loan options, rates, loan fees, terms, and collateral requirements to loan prospects. Maintains effective supervision of loans through sound loan administration to ensure Association position. Seeks a high level of visibility to the target lending market within the assigned territory. Markets the Association by being a source of referrals for the other lending segments of the Association. Promotes financially related services to all current and prospective members.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics.
  • Must be knowledgeable in areas of farm management and agricultural finance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures, and credit practices in the Farm Credit System and the Association.
  • Mortgage finance knowledge preferred.
  • Skilled in making sales calls and proposals for new business.
  • Superior knowledge of Association products, lending programs, and credit policies.
  • Excellent skills in judgment, leadership, initiative, and organization.
  • Provides referrals to other lending segments.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with agricultural producers and rural homeowners.
  • Proven ability to meet sales goals through proactive business development.
  • Effective communication skills for working with borrowers, partners, and internal team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple loan relationships while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and loan origination systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Commitment to representing River Valley AgCredit positively within the community and promoting cooperative values.

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Position responsibilities averaging approximately 60% of the workload:

  • Develop new business and expand existing relationships in both the Agricultural and Country Mortgage segments.
  • Call on potential customers, identify credit needs, and gather financial data for analysis.
  • Prepare and present proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Conduct sales calls to achieve individually established goals.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Association products, services, and the industries within the market area served.
  • Explain loan options, rates, fees, terms, and collateral requirements to loan prospects.
  • Make credit decisions on loans under delegated authority and recommend actions beyond delegated limits.
  • Work collaboratively with the Regional Lending Manager to remain within the established marketing budget.

Position responsibilities averaging approximately 40% of the workload:

  • Originate and administer loans in accordance with Farm Credit System and Association regulations.
  • Evaluate all loan actions for eligibility, repayment ability, and other risk factors.
  • Accurately document facts and sources used in the loan decision-making process.
  • Maintain effective supervision of loans to ensure the Association’s financial position.
  • Monitor customer financial situations, loan performance, and repayment activity.
  • Take appropriate corrective actions when necessary to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure loan pricing achieves maximum gross profit, consistent with market conditions and area characteristics.
